Tom Angerame DDS

Angerame Dental Associates

Tom Angerame is a third-generation dentist practicing in Palatine with his father, Robert. This location is where Tom’s grandfather practiced from 1953 to 1983. Tom grew up in Arlington Heights and went to Buffalo Grove High School. He went to Loyola University Chicago for his undergraduate degree and is where he met his future wife. Recently they celebrated their first anniversary. After Loyola, he attended University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry. During his D-4 year, he taught first-year students tooth morphology, instrumentation, and restorative dentistry as a teacher’s assistant. In addition to this he would plan, organize and present monthly dental health seminars at Jesse Brown VA Hospital. These seminars were specifically aimed at those veterans who did not qualify for dental coverage and provided PowerPoint presentations, toothbrushes, toothpaste, denture cleaners, etc. to those who attended.

After dental school, he was accepted into Jesse Brown VA Great Lakes General Practice Residency. Here he gained general dentistry and surgical (both operatory and operating room) experience providing care to inner-city veterans. When he wasn’t on call at the VA Hospital, he was working in Palatine.

Since his residency ended, Tom has become involved in the community as a member of the Rotary Club of Palatine. He also presented information to the head and neck cancer support group of Northwest Community Hospital regarding dental implications and expectations of chemotherapy and radiation.

Tom is currently working with his brother, an orthopedic surgeon with Illinois Bone and Joint Institute out of Good Shepherd Hospital, his father, and a close family friend, who is a past president of the American Academy of Periodontology, on a multidisciplinary research paper pertaining to antibiotic prophylaxis. As hobbies, Tom enjoys athletics, personal fitness, home improvement, and movies.
